Activities At Lucieville Farmstay WA
Daily Animal Feeding
Every day at 9:00am we feed our animals and milk the cow. Which types of animals we have to feed depends on the season and what babies we are caring for at the time. Some of the different types of animals are calves, lambs, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats, emus, chooks, turkeys and pigs.
Have a go at hand milking a cow and then see how easy and quick it is using a milking machine.
Animal feeding takes around an hour to complete and takes place every day of the year, regardless of weather (except for Christmas Day). This is a free activity for guests staying in our accommodation.
A great activity to see the Bridgetown Western Australia bush at night is spotlighting! Spotlighting is where we get on the back of the farm ute with a really big torch at night time and drive around the forest looking for animals. This activity is not something we do every night but for those guests staying two nights or more, we do try to make sure that they have an opportunity to go at least once during their stay.
Some of the day to day activities on the farm are dependent on the weather in Bridgetown Western Australia. During the winter months, when there are no fire bans we are able to take guests to a campfire down by a small creek where we make damper over the hot coals.
Watch your kids play in the creek or cook some damper bread over the open fire and have a cup of tea.
General Farm Activities
Lucieville is a working farm so if you stand around too long you might find yourself helping us feed the cows or horses giant rolls of hay. We could be fencing, shearing sheep or alpacas, or lighting up massive bonfires. It all depends on what jobs we need to get done.
Here at Lucieville we offer escorted rides for guests who are both staying with us and guests who are not. We have quiet and well-trained horses that guests can take out on an escorted trail ride through the nearby forest. The trail rides go for approximately 1 hour.
(To participate in our trail rides you must be at least ten years old)
Alternatively, we offer quiet horses that you can lead around our farm or through the forest with your children.
$40 per saddle up
$50 per saddle up if you are not a residing guest
Riders must wear long pants and covered shoes. Helmets are supplied.
Farm Ute Ride
Our farm ute is fitted with a specially engineered cage to enable our guests to stand up on the back of the ute as we drive about the farm doing activities. The kids absolutely love the rides on the back of the ute.
Canoes/BBQ Area & Playground
We have several canoes and a paddle boat that live permanently on our dam in front of the chalets with life vests. These are there for the guest to use at any time they wish and are free of charge. It’s the small things like this that makes Lucieville Farm Chalets in Bridgetown Western Australia the most relaxing farmstay WA has to offer.
Nearby is a BBQ area with picnic tables and a small playground.
Glenlynn Forest Conservation Area – Bridgetown Western Australia
We have a large forest conservation area located right next door to the property. The conservation area stretches all the way down to near the Blackwood River and can be used for bushwalking or looking at the abundant animal life or native vegetation.
